OUR

Story

Located a mere 50 yards from the Jorden river and only 11 miles from the baptismal site. The Rohkin Date Palm Farm is a family owned business, founded in 2006 by Haim Meir and his two sons, Eitan and Avihai.

Haim Rohkin, originally from Argentina, comes from a long lineage of farmers, dating back to the early 20th, when his ancestors worked the farmland of famed German Jewish financier, Baron Hirsch. The Rohkin family eventually immigrated to Israel from Argentina in 1969, before settling in the Jordan Valley in 1989.
They were drawn to its vast and rich landscape, and wanted to fulfill their Zionist dream of becoming modern-day farmers, and help contribute and fortify the state of Israel by settling the Jordan Valley countryside.

The Rohkin Farm is also home to several rescue donkeys, courtesy of the “Pegasus Society”. The Foundation helps save and rescue abused donkeys and horses from all over Israel, and places them with suitable farms where they can live long, safe and healthy lives.
The Rohkin farm currently cares for five free-range donkeys that help maintain the farm’s vegetation, and are beloved by both visitors and employees alike!
